Today there was plenty of action out off the coast of Ballina and Byron Bay. We enjoyed breaching, comp groups, muggings & tail slapping on our Byron Bay Whale Watching Cruises at 8:00am & 11:00am. Conditions are looking good this week, so be sure to book aboard our Byron Bay Whale Watching Cruise.

Baby girl showing off her latest learned skill..breaching!👏🏼 Out of the womb, this newborn’s been on mum’s training program building up the strength she needs to survive a long, perilous journey to Antarctic feeding grounds where there are colder waters and more predators. In her first weeks, this calf has gained up to 45kg each day nursing very nutritious & fatty (~35%) milk! Meanwhile, mum’s on a winter fast & is losing tons and tons of weight. She’s famished & eager to reach their summer destination where she’ll feast on krill. However, mum won’t rush it & leave prematurely.. she needs to deem her baby fit enough & ready.. which her calf sure is proving!👏🏼
